We're excited to share the latest developments on our proposal for the ENERGY Subnetwork (HIP 128) within the Helium ecosystem. After months of behind-the-scenes preparation, we officially released our proposal on July 2nd, 2024, marking a significant milestone in our journey to decentralize energy management.

Since the release, we've been actively engaging with the Helium community:

  1. We participated in an AMA session on the Helium Discord, addressing questions and gathering valuable feedback from community members.

  2. We were featured on a podcast where we discussed our proposal to join the Helium ecosystem, our vision for decentralizing the energy grid, and how this initiative could expand the Total Addressable Market (TAM) for HNT while accruing value to the token. You can listen to the full discussion here.

  3. Most recently, we spent an intensive week in San Francisco, working closely with the Helium Foundation. This collaboration has been instrumental in refining our proposal based on the community's feedback and ensuring alignment with the Helium ecosystem's goals.

The ENERGY subnetwork aims to reward users for participating in solar power production and battery energy storage, while also enabling data collection and control of these distributed energy resources. This initiative has the potential to create dual mining opportunities for compatible Helium Hotspots, increase IOT network usage, drive significant Data Credit burn, and align Helium with global sustainability goals.

We're thrilled by the engagement and support we've received so far. The refinements made to our proposal reflect our commitment to creating a solution that benefits all stakeholders in the Helium ecosystem while pushing forward the decentralization of energy management.

As we move forward in the proposal process, we encourage everyone to review the updated HIP 128 and continue providing feedback. Your input is crucial in shaping the future of decentralized energy within the Helium network.

Stay tuned for more updates as we work towards bringing the world's first decentralized Virtual Power Plant to life through the Helium network!
